June 29th Day to Regroup

Kigoma, Tanzania
June 29th, 2026
We were all able to have a slower-paced morning, and thankfully we were able to clean our
clothes!
Sylvester took us to the Dr. Livingstone Memorial Museum in nearby Ujiji, a suburb of Kigoma. We explored the museum exhibits, learned about Dr Livingstone’s Christian faith and his great disdain of the African slave trade.

We also toured the nearby soap factory, viewed the process of boiling the palm oil, the molding of the soap, and saw the many soap merchant stalls.

We then enjoyed a walk through the lovely Hilltop Resort. Accompanied by Harold Knepper, we saw the pelicans, zebras, elands, monkeys, wildebeests, and even fed the young giraffes who make Hilltop their home. We ate a wonderful lunch, and relaxed while listening to some of Harold’s wild stories from his years in Tanzania with HOTN.

For dinner, we drove to Christina and Eggrey’s house (Bible College Graduates). and joined the buddies there for a fun and delicious time before lights out.
