As you receive fundraising letters to help Tanzania STM team members reach the financial needs for this trip, let me say Asante Sana, thank you very much, and Bwana Asifiwe, praise the Lord, in Swahili.

This week was very busy for the team. Taylor and Tammy met during the week to go over the VBS theme “Being obedient even in tough times.” Zakiya, Lou Ann, Coni Knepper and Tammy meet on Zoom to talk about the two day teacher seminar that Zakiya and Lou Ann are putting on for HoTN Primary School teachers. Devan worked on details for our team fundraisers, and VBS games. Jack and Dan are working on a one day leadership training for HoTN Kids Club leaders, and Gloria is working on VBS crafts and our onsite daily devotions with Zakiya, Lou Ann.

On February 9th we gathered at the home of co-leader, Jack Daley, for a slightly shorter, yet detail-packed evening. Paperwork was handed out to be completed, another video of" Helping Without Hurting" was viewed and my most challenging, yet exciting assignment is to learn eight Bible verses. For me memorization at 69years old is a bit more challenging, but love knowing more of God’s Word. Additional homework is for each of us to write out our testimony and to be prepared to share it at anytime. For me that is an easy task, as giving glory to God is a joy! We were told how to start conversations with Tanzanians and were given questions to ask, after listening to them intently.

Blessings to you all! (Note to self: what is blessings in Swahili)?
