Saying goodbye is bittersweet. We returned to camp on Monday morning as the children were packing up after their long weekend. As we looked into a sea of green (all were wearing their camp tee shirts), we learned six children accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior and nine children wanted to be baptized. All of us smiled for a group photo in front of the Bible College and as the children were taken back to the local villages, we were blessed to follow Pastor Moses to a cove on Lake Tanganyika and share in the experience of these children giving their life to Christ.
I was, personally, saddened when I learned SVCC was having baptisms on June 25 and I would not be there to observe this public display of Christians ready to walk in obedience with Christ. Yet, what a joy to be on the beautiful, rocky shore watching these children immersed into this fresh-water lake, dying to self, and rising into new life Christ!
We returned to our Kigoma home and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon, giving me an opportunity to get caught up on the blogs. The team set out for a small walk to spend some Shillings on goods from street vendors and have dinner in a restaurant. One of us enjoyed the food so much, I decided to wear it!
Hard to believe we have been gone for a week. Thanks for coming with us and sharing with others!
