May 4, we had a short meeting outside Jack’s home, in Gilroy. We completed the last two
exercises in the short-term mission guide book, “Prepare Your Heart”. The focus was on
learning to be a good guest in a foreign country, especially a developing country. Basically,
being humble, observing & listening, and recognize their beliefs and ways are different that our
lifestyle. When we put others first and live in harmony, that glorifies God.!
May 11, the team woke up to the first of their daily devotionals, that I will text out each day until
departure date, June 19. Whoa, the countdown clock is ticking!!
Here is a sample of day one of the 40 devotionals...and it actually pertains to many of us!
“Lord God, please help me know how to encourage and mobilize members of this church to
engage more fully in your purposes related to missions, You have called me to obedience for
your name’s sake (Romans 1:5). I desire that You would purify my heart by faith (Acts 15:9) that
I may be wholeheartedly rendered to your will”.
Sunday, May 21, our last team building activity will take place at Gilroy Gardens. I’m excited to
introduce this backyard beauty to those on the team that have never been their before. Devan recalls his first
employment days there. Besides the rides, sharing our testimonies in the shaded gardens, we
will have a team exercise. You’ll have to read in the next blog to here how that went...
Shhh, don’t want to give anything away!! Look for another surprise. You'll see us in our bright, TZ VBS tee shirts! Free
gift, to the first one who can translate what it says!
