Hurry up and wait. That’s been our motto since we left Gilroy on Sunday, 8:30am. We had a 13 hour flight to Istanbul, Turkey, then an 8 hour flight to Dar es Saalam, Tanzania, and now we are waiting 9 hours because of the flight delay, to get to Kigoma and Hope of The Nations. We think we spent as much time in airports as we did in the air and have effectively found every bathroom, showers available in bathroom stalls, airport sleep pods, although none of us splurged for that comfort. We can also tell you the best cat-nap locations and tastiest coffee in the Istanbul and Dar es Saalam airports!
Praise God! All our luggage and containers with the supplies for VBS made it to DAR. How would you like to load a lug around like this on your next vacation?
We’ve all escaped any mosquito bites, thus far. But, we think our 2-day stench is the best repellant. We’re thinking about marketing this upon our return.
